Walk and Wade Guided Trips
Why walk and wade? It offers a unique connection to the river that can’t be rivaled. While wading through the water with your fly rod, you can take in the breathtaking scenery of the surrounding rivers and streams. You will find yourself surrounded by stunning landscapes and the soothing sounds of flowing water as you immerse yourself in the tranquility nature offers.
The fly fishing guided trips with Eagle River Outfitter (ERO) start by meeting your guide on the river at a predetermined location for 4-8 hours of fly fishing fun, depending on your package selection. Your guide(s) will bring the waders and boots to the fishing location, so valuable fishing time is not wasted at a fly shop. The ERO personnel will have all the fishing gear necessary – rods, reels, appropriate flies, and terminal tackle. They’ll also have cold beverages available.
Before handing the rods over to the guests to fish their way to glory, a brief casting clinic is conducted on the water at the beginning of each trip. No matter how good or how great the fishing is, the guide or guides will be right there with you,
- giving you pointers on how to hook, fight, and land fish,
- will work on perfecting your casts, mends, and drifts.
With a quick, easy lesson and as much on-water attention as you can handle, we feel confident that even beginners can quickly grasp the sport and have a great time doing it. You will remember your time spent fly fishing when you have one of our experienced guides by your side the whole time, passing on their knowledge and ensuring you have a memorable adventure. Come along with us and experience the exhilaration of reeling in your prize catch amid the peace and quiet of the great Colorado outdoors. All trips include everything needed for your day in the water / on the riverbank- water, waders/wading socks and boots (if needed), rods/reels, flies, and terminal tackle. The only things NOT included are transportation, fishing license(s), and guide gratuity.

Our Past Trips
Eagle River Outfitter hopes that you leave with a love for the sport of fly fishing and a desire to continue your fly fishing endeavors, as well as pass it along to friends, family, and loved ones (along with the conservation practices that keep this great sport going).
Chances are you don’t own a drift boat and most of your fishing will not be done in a boat so why learn this way? Let us simplify casting, teach you how to read water, and show you how to choose the right fly with ease. Let us show you how to “read” water, make a drag-free drift, and finally hook, fight, and land fish confidently and quickly.
Finally and most importantly, let’s have fun doing it with waders on and a good stretch of water to pick apart as a team. Listen to Chuck Norris.
