PHEASANT TAIL SUPER FLASH TUNGSTEN

Description

Pheasant Tail Super Flash Tungsten Head – High-Visibility Mayfly Nymph Pattern

The Pheasant Tail Super Flash Tungsten Head adds a bright and modern twist to the traditional Pheasant Tail Nymph, one of the most time-tested trout fishing flies ever tied. By incorporating extra flash into the body and wing case, this version increases visibility and attraction in deeper or off-colored water. The gold bead head enhances the fly’s sink rate, ensuring it reaches the strike zone quickly, while the subtle shimmer mimics the natural sheen of mayfly nymphs as they drift through the current.

Design / Features

These fly fishing flies are tied using natural pheasant tail fibers blended with a fine flash material for an enticing glimmer underwater. The addition of a sturdy gold bead not only increases weight but also reflects light, drawing attention from nearby trout. Its compact profile and segmented body imitate those of emerging mayflies, while the durability of the materials ensures longevity over multiple catches.

When and Where to Use

The Pheasant Tail Super Flash Tungsten Head is perfect for fishing during mayfly hatches or when trout are feeding just off the bottom. It performs well in freestone rivers, tailwaters, and alpine streams, particularly in low-light or stained water conditions where visibility is most important. Fish it beneath an indicator or as part of a two-nymph rig for maximum effectiveness.
