RED SQUIRREL TUNGSTEN

Description

Red Squirrel Flash Tungsten – a buggy natural nymph with extra flash and weight

The Red Squirrel Flash Tungsten is a modern upgrade to the classic squirrel nymph, designed to sink quickly and grab attention. By combining the natural movement of squirrel dubbing with a touch of subtle flash and a tungsten bead, these fishing flies deliver the perfect blend of realism and attraction. It’s an exceptional choice when trout are feeding opportunistically or when you need a dependable searching pattern for all water conditions.

Design / Features

The Red Squirrel Flash Tungsten features natural squirrel dubbing that creates a buggy, lifelike profile and traps micro-bubbles for added realism. A thin strip of flash material enhances visibility underwater without overpowering the natural tones, while the tungsten bead ensures a fast sink rate to reach feeding zones quickly. Its durable construction and versatile design make it a go-to pattern for both clear and off-colored water.

When & Where to Use

The Red Squirrel Flash Tungsten excels in freestones, tailwaters, and pocket water year-round. It’s particularly effective during shoulder seasons or non-hatch periods when trout respond well to buggy patterns with a hint of flash. Ideal for Euro-nymphing, tight-line, or indicator rigs in moderate to fast currents.
